I apologize for the delay of the President’s Message, but I wanted to be able to report on the February 4 Awards Banquet. I’m happy to report it was a success! LPSDC is in the black and the dessert auction raised over $900 dollars, which we will split between Sunrise Equine Rescue and Kitsap Humane Society’s Equine Program.

I personally had a blast. Lots of fun, cool people, delicious food and drink. Some great stories to tell, Thank you Kim (inside joke ;-)

I didn’t get a chance to thank the people responsible at the party, so I would like to do so now. Anne and Cheryl put this all together!

The awards, M.C., menu, the auction items and so much more. Thank you Anne and Cheryl!

Renee & Carrie did an excellent job as our banquet cashiers. I could go on and on with the people to thank, but to keep it simple I thank all of you for coming and contributing to our club.

The star of the banquet was Stella Bailey. Stella gets the “most bling of the evening” award. I think we all need to keep an eye on Stella so we can be name droppers when she makes it to the Olympics.

A special thank you to Gene Dueber, who didn’t make it to the banquet this year, but without Gene this club would not exist….Thank you Gene!

And finally to our horses. Past, present and future. Alois Podhajsky said “horses are our mirror”. Buck Brannaman said “Horses are the mirrors to our soul”. And this is why I tell everyone . . . CJ belongs to Carrie ;-). Until next month,
